Eyebrow transplant is principally same with head hair transplantation, but, technically different. The hairs on the back side of the head are very available for brows in terms of thickness and color.

However, since the transplanted hairs will grow continuously, they need trimming periodically. The most important aspects of eyebrow transplant are that of hairs align on the same line and follow natural hair direction very closely with very acute angle.

In order to achieve natural result after eyebrow transplant, some factors are very important:

Singularity of each follicles.

Placement of the follicle as the hair’s curve should follow the natural curve of the other hairs.

The Eyelash and Eyebrow Transplant Procedure

Patient safety for eyebrow transplant

The procedure requires local anesthesia and consists of three stages.

First stage of eyebrow transplant is to collect the follicles. Initially I inject local anaesthesic medicine in order to get full numbness. I harvest each individual follicle from the donor area with FUE technique. The number of the follicles depends on the recipient area’s requirement which varies between 50 to 400 follicles. Collecting the follicles takes 30-60 minutes.

Second stage of eyebrow transplant is to make tiny incisions on the recipient area in order to place the follicles. Incision pattern is very critical in terms of direction. Alignment, direction, angulation and density of the incisions which require special hand skill that you cannot find everywhere influence the quality of the result. Making the incisions takes 30-60 minutes.

Third stage of eyebrow transplant is placement of the follicles into the incisions. During the placement, rotating the follicle as the hair curve positioned parallel to the other hairs is critical in this stage. This is really time consuming job and takes 1 to 2 hours.

How is the recovery after eyebrow transplant and eyelash restoration?

You may leave the clinic just after procedure is completed. I will prescribe an antibiotic and analgesic.

You should take the antibiotic regularly for 1 week. Antibiotic is a precaution for any probable infection. Therefore it is very important you to take regularly.

First 1-2 days you may feel burn like pain. When you feel pain you should take pain killer medicine. It relieves the pain.

Swelling and bruising will occur around your eye and they tend to increase in 2 days. Then both swelling and bruising will reduce quickly. You can start your work the next week.

All transplanted hair will fall in 2-3 weeks after the procedure. However the roots will be intact in their nest. New baby hair will sprout from the roots after 2-3 months.

As the new hair grows you will see the actual result after 5-6 months.

How should you care after eyelash and eyebrow transplant?

I will invite you for check up after 2 days. During the check up, your face will be washed. Then you will wash your face by yourself the following days.

You should avoid sun exposure for 2 months. So, I recommend you to use sun blocker creams during this period. Apart from these, there is no need for any special care.
